Upon retiring, she moved to Winston-Salem where she was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, the church of her parents. Mrs. Rabb had many interests. She had an extensive library of gardening, nutrition, health, and herbal cures. She loved to garden and for many years grew a summer vegetable garden on a lot she owned in Winston-Salem. She always grew beautiful flowers and was a long-time member of the NC Botanical Gardens. She enjoyed entering and winning cooking contests, among them the Pillsbury Bake-Off where she was a finalist in New York in 1954. She was an avid Tar Heel fan and seldom missed football or basketball games. She was very interested in the political scene and never missed a chance to vote. She and a sister enjoyed traveling to many places and taking many cruises. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at 11:00 prior to the funeral. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
