Mrs. Lillian Hartley Bailey, 91, passed away Friday, March 11, 2011 at Springwood Care Center in Winston-Salem. She was born in Davie Co. on November 10, 1919 to the late Ira Vance Hartley and George Henry Lippard Hartley. Mrs. Bailey was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be missed greatly by everyone who knew her. She was a member of Becks Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Bailey retired from Medical Park Hospital as a nurse and then became a private duty nurse until the age of 80. Mrs. Bailey is survived by a daughter, Janie Gilbert and husband Tommy of Pfafftown, four sons, Horace Simpson of Walkertown, Henry Simpson and wife Pat of Winston-Salem, David Simpson and wife Judy of Germanton and Wayne Simpson and wife Pam of Advance, 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Margie Markland of Advance and Magdalene Davis of Colfax and one brother, Vance Hartley and wife Elsie of Sevierville, TN. Funeral services for Mrs. Bailey will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Dr. Karl Minor officiating. Entombment will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 7-9 this evening March 14, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
