Lila Hardwick Rushing

Germanton, NC- Mrs. Lila Hardwick Rushing, 83, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born in Conway, SC on November 15, 1939, the daughter of the late Van and Luttie Hardwick. Lila attended Germanton Baptist Church and was active in their many ministries. She retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. as a tour guide. Lila enjoyed traveling, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren. Lila was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who will be missed deeply by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her five siblings, Earl Hardwick, Maxie Hardwick, James Hardwick, Nadine Singleton and Linda Baggott. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Rodger Rushing; a daughter, Cindy Tilley (Tim); a son, Brent Rushing (Julie); and four special grandchildren, Rachel Rushing, Caroline Rushing Mayhew (Ben), Avery Tilley and Parker Tilley. Funeral Services will be conducted 12:00 noon Friday, June 2, 2023, at Germanton Baptist Church with Pastor Philip Crouse, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 prior to the service at Germanton Baptist Church.
