Lewis Lloyd Mac" McNeill

Mr. Lewis Lloyd (Mac) McNeill, 88, of Winston-Salem, passed away Friday, January 23, 2009 at Danby House. He was born January 24, 1920 in Moore County, to Benjamin H. and Flossie Williamson McNeill. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army in the European Theater. He was a charter member of Fellowship Baptist Church and served as Deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years. He also was owner and operator of Mac's Auto Parts for many years before retiring. He was a faithful member of Masonic Lodge # 289 and very active until his health prevented his participation. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his three brothers and one sister. He is survived by his faithful and dedicated wife of 63 years, Esther Craver McNeill; two daughters, Bonnie Tucker of Winston-Salem and Janice Caldwell (Jim) of Lexington; five grandchildren, James Caldwell (Joy), Jerry Caldwell (Belton), Tonya Ward (Brad), Amy Tucker and Shawn Tucker (Carmen); ten great grandchildren; one brother and six sisters. Also surviving are many close members of the Craver family, church and lodge family. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 26, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Randy Whitman officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends from 6-8- PM Sunday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice and Palliative for their kind and loving support. They would like to also thank the dedicated staff of Dandy House for their love and caring support over the past ten months while Mac's health declined.
