Letha “Lee” was born on March 28th, 1930 to Alice and George Moore in Burgaw, North Carolina. She was one of 10 children, Miles, Curtis, Charles, Floyd, Beulah, Margarite, Melba, Lela, and Alice.
Lee graduated from Acme-Delco High School and attended Piedmont Bible College and Parson’s college pursuing a degree in elementary education. Lee devoted her early married life to raising four children and supporting her husband Bob as he pursued his graduate degrees in the Midwest. She enjoyed being a cub and girl scout leader, singing in the church choir, teaching children’s Sunday school, playing the piano, and gardening in the summer. She was an excellent cook and was known for her fried chicken, spaghetti and meatballs and chocolate cream pie.
Upon moving back to North Carolina in 1974, Lee began a career in Human Resources at NC Baptist Hospital and spent her remaining work years in service to the hospital, recruiting countless employees. Grandma Lee enjoyed time with her grandchildren in retirement.
Lee is survived by her devoted husband, Bob; sons, Bob Jr. and David (Julie); daughters, Sandra Landschoot (Mark) and Carolyn Huffman-Ponder (Phil Ponder); and grandchildren, Bob Huffman III, Nancy Elizabeth La Flair, Alex Huffman, Jamie Huffman, Brad Landschoot (Tori), Lori Landschoot, Cam and Carly Ponder, as well as many nieces and nephews.
