Letha Motsinger Joyce

KernersvilleMrs. Letha Motsinger Joyce, 86, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013. She was born September 19, 1926 in Forsyth County to the late Faude and Sally Reid Motsinger. Mrs. Joyce was a member of First United Church of Christ. She loved nature and gardening. Letha and Roy enjoyed playing canasta and vacationing with Margaret and Harry Berry their lifelong friends. Preceding her in death was her husband, Lee Roy Joyce; son, Dennis Dale Joyce; brothers, Monroe, Brooks, and Charles Motsinger. Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn J. Holton and husband Mike and Catherine J. Horton and husband Gary all of Winston-Salem; daughter-in-law, Linda Joyce of Kernersville; four grandchildren, Michelle Eddleman, Michael Holton, Jr., Neil Joyce, and Jeff Joyce; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Rev. Robert Motsinger and two sisters, Polly Clodfelter and Nina Holder all of Kernersville. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, August 15, 2013 at First United Church of Christ with Rev. David Crook and Rev. Wayne Linville officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
