Lester Miller Blake, Jr.

Mr. Lester Miller Blake, Jr., 78, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2017 at his home. He was born March 24, 1939 in Forsyth County to the late Frances Cline Blake and Lester Miller Blake, Sr. Mr. Blake retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with over 25 years of service. He enjoyed collecting R. J. R. memorabilia and cigarette lighters. He was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Blake was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Cain Blake and his brother, Roger Blake. He is survived by two daughters, Darlene Pierce (Keith) of Lawsonville and Dedra Poindexter (Brian) of Tobaccoville; three sons: Timothy Blake (Melissa) of Lewisville, Richard Blake (Melissa) of Lewisville, and Perry Blake (Kim) of King; ten grandchildren; and one sister, Shirley Stilley (Albert) of Lexington. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Pastor Bud Cain officiating. Burial will follow at Rural Hall Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
