LeRoy Stanley, Jr.

Mr. LeRoy Stanley, Jr., 92, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Stanley was born in Forsyth County on September 10, 1923, to the late LeRoy Stanley, Sr. and Gladys Petree Stanley. LeRoy served his country in the United States Army during WWII. Mr. Stanley retired from Sealtest after many years of service as a milkman. Following his retirement he went to work in the security department at Aon Insurance Agency. LeRoy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He took excellent care of his wife while she dealt with major health issues for the last ten years of her life. In addition to his parents, LeRoy was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Lucille Stanley and one brother, Jimmy Stanley. Mr. Stanley is survived by his son, LeRoy ""Sonny"" Stanley, III and wife, Valerie of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren, Stephen Stanley and wife, Wendi of Little River, SC and Allison Stanley of Los Angeles, CA; and four great-grandchildren, Aaron, Reba, Logan and Hunter. Funeral services for Mr. Stanley will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Disabled American Veterans, 251 N. Main St. #115, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
