Mr. Leroy Arthur Beverly, 87, passed away Friday, July 24, 2009 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born July 28, 1921 in Roxbury, Massachusetts to the late Paul Chase and Mary Phillips Beverly. Mr. Beverly graduated from Providence Bible Institute where he met his wife of 66 years. He became a missionary and served in Maine, Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, and the Bahamas. Mr. Beverly's main goal in life was to glorify Jesus and to tell everyone about him. Preceding him in death was a sister, Eleanor Afflerbaugh. Surviving is his wife Ruth Beverly; nine children, Paul Beverly, Timothy Beverly, Rebecca Prescott, Priscilla Cartwright, Mark Beverly, Daniel Beverly, Mary Lois Linscott, Susanna Hall, and David Beverly and all their families; 38 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Paul, John, and Stephen Beverly and a sister, Mary Lois Ashley. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Jeff Beverly officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CEF of Triad 1701 Westchester Drive Suite 240 Box 6 High Point, NC 27262 for Jason Beverly.
