Leonard “Jack” Calvin Cline, Jr., 85, a resident of Winston-Salem, peacefully went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, February 16, 2025. Jack was born on July 2, 1939, in Forsyth County to the late Leonard Calvin Cline, Sr. and Mary Bell Cline. He retired from Reynold’s Tobacco after 35 years of service. He also was a volunteer with the South Fork Fire Department for many years. Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Jack was a faithful member of Lexwin Baptist church and loved his church family very much. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Doris Winter Cline, who passed in 1999; and his second wife, Janet Cline, who recently passed in 2024. He was also preceded in death by his sons, Raymond Brooks and Lenny Cline; and brothers, Archie Ray Cline and Jimmy Gray Cline.
Left to cherish Jack’s memory is his daughter, Sandra Taylor (David); sons, Don Whitley (Darlene) and David Whitley (Jackie); seventeen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM in Lexwin Baptist Church, 100 Wainwright St, Winston-Salem, NC 27107. There will not be a formal visitation. Interment will follow the service in Parklawn Memorial Park cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to Lexwin Baptist Church. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the family.
