Mrs. Leona Ireland Vanhoy, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and Nanny to all, age 91 of Winston-Salem went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Vanhoy was born November 17, 1920 in Stokes County to Juran Morris and Bessie Nance Ireland. She was a member of Northwoods Baptist Church and loved her church family. Mrs. Vanhoy was a very kind and giving lady. She ran a day care at her home for 60 plus years and loved and nurtured many children. In addition to her parents Mrs. Vanhoy was preceded in death by her husband; James Tucker Vanhoy and one brother; Zeno Morris Ireland. Mrs. Vanhoy is survived by one son; Bobby James Vanhoy of Tabor City, NC. Four grandchildren: Gloria McCollum, Susan Beach and husband Randy, John Vanhoy and wife Laura and Jason Vanhoy and wife Missy. Four great-grandchildren: Jonathan Vanhoy, Triston Vanhoy, Her sweetie, Robby Beach and Corey Vanhoy. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Vanhoy will be held Tuesday morning, March 6, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Northwoods Baptist Church by Rev. Jim Thompson. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall, NC. The family will receive friends at Northwoods Baptist Church Monday evening March 5th from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
