Lena McHone Pegram

RURAL HALL-Lena Mae McHone Pegram, 84 passed away Friday, October 9, 2015 at Bermuda Commons. She was born January 29, 1931 in Stokes Co. to the late Luther Monroe and Sarah Letha Whitt McHone. Lena was a hairdresser in Rural Hall for many years, enjoying meeting new clients and the friendships she endured throughout her career. She was a loving caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother cherishing every moment she spent with her children. Her family meant everything to her. She was married to the late Floyd M. Pegram for 42 years. Lena was a member of Jefferson Church of Christ and was a member of the Faithful Workers class. She had an amazing green thumb, and could make the ""Best"" homemade biscuits ever. She was an amazing women and mother and we will cherish her memory forever. Surviving are her children, Tim Pegram, Steve (Debbi) Pegram, Joel (Val) Pegram, Suzun (Larry) McCrary, and Charlotte (Randy) Saunders; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2015 at Jefferson Church of Christ with Peter Cain, Minister officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Many thanks go to the staff and caregivers of Liberty Hospice and Bermuda Commons in Advance for their compassion and loving support provided during this time. Also, a special thank you to Tammy Norman for her loving support during mom's last four years.
