Lena Hauser Miller

Mrs. Lena Hauser Miller, 95, formerly of Midway, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 19, 2009 at Springwood Care. She was born February 19, 1914 in Forsyth County to Roswell Daniel and Hattie Graham Hauser. She worked for RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company and Western Electric. Lena was a devoted member of Midway United Methodist Church. She loved to sing in the church choir and was active in the Midway UMC Women for over 50 years. Lena was a loving and caring aunt and friend to all. She always had a smile and laugh for everyone around her and will be missed deeply. In addition to her parents, Lena was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Miller in 1988 and by two brothers, R.D. Hauser, Robert Hauser and by three sisters, Mildred Shamel, Pansy Tuttle and Lucille Chapple. Surviving are four nieces, a special caregiver, Brenda Gale Tuttle, Janet Cook, Cathy Hauser and Gina Miller ; two nephews, Danny Hauser and Mike Chapple. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Midway United Methodist Church with Rev. John Woods officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
