Lena Ann Bowman

Lena Ann Bowman, 88, of King, NC passed away on May 14, 2014.
Lena was born in Patrick County, Virginia on February 15, 1926. She spent her school years in Patrick County and attended Blue Ridge High School in Ararat, Virginia. Lena was married to Raymond Smith Bowman on April 21, 1944; they were married for seventy years.
Lena was a loving spouse, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In her leisure time, she enjoyed working puzzles, word searches, and working in the garden. Lena worked for The Hastings Company in King, NC for many years.
Lena is survived by her husband Raymond Smith Bowman of the home; daughters Shirley and husband Jeff (McHone) of Pinnacle, Shelby Bowman of Walkertown, Vicky and husband Eddie (Gunnell) of King, Sandy Bowman and Dee Faircloth of Pinnacle, and Beverly Caudle of Tobaccoville; sons Larry Bowman of King, Billy Bowman and wife Karen of Pinnacle; ten grandchildren Sherry, Ricky, Shannon, Melody, Billy, Danielle, Bobby, Misty, Christy, and Gary; and twelve great grandchildren.
Lena is preceded in death by a son Gary Bowman and three grandchildren; Tammy, Danny Gray, and Jennifer.
The family will receive friends at Hayworth Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall, NC from 12:00 to 1:00 PM on Friday May 16, 2014. A graveside memorial service and burial will be held immediately after the visitation at 2:00 PM at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall, NC.
