COLFAX- Lee Parrish, Jr., 70, a loving husband, Dad, and Granddad, lost his gallant battle with cancer Sunday, November 2, 2014. Lee was born May 4, 1944 in Guilford Co. to the late Arthur Lee Parrish, Sr. and Nancy Jane Taylor Parrish.
Lee retired from the City of Greensboro as a chief welder after many years of service. He loved welding for fun; enjoyed farming and plowing with his tractor. Lee always looked forward to visiting his friends at ""the store"" for fellowship and coffee.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Surviving are his wife, Joann Tucker Parrish; son, Chris Parrish and wife, Melanie; ""daughter"", Tanya Kirby; step-son, David Gray; two step-grandsons, Cole and Knox; three sisters, Ruby Campbell, Louise Holleman, Irene Shofety and husband, Jerry; three brothers, William Parrish and wife, Florence, Wayne Parrish and wife, Marie; and Larry Parrish and wife, Marie; his beloved pet Maui Laken; his lifelong friend, Ronnie Sharon; Chris' mother, Lynda Parrish.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church with Pastor Nate Kingsberry officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel.
Memorials may be made to Hospice at Greensboro, 2502 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405.
Casual dress is requested by the family for visitation and graveside service.
