Lee Hirvonen

OAK RIDGE – Mrs. Lee Angela Hirvonen, 51, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Wesley Long Hospital. Lee was born on August 15, 1970 in New York.

As a college exchange student, Lee participated in an International Business Program at Helsinki University of Technology in Finland, where she met Masa Hirvonen. They formed a friendship among their peers and later their paths crossed again in the US, where they joined in a relationship and became husband and wife. Lee enjoyed traveling with her family, especially spending summers in Finland with her children in their younger years to visit grandparents. Her most recent travels were with her children’s Lacrosse Teams, of which she was their biggest fan.

Surviving are her husband of 22 years, Masa Hirvonen; a son, Joseph Hirvonen; a daughter, Jenna Hirvonen; her father, Peter Valentino; her mother, Susan Badia; two sisters, Lucia and Maren Valentino; and four brothers, Joe, Tom, Chris, and John Valentino.

To respect Lee’s wishes, a private family service will be held to celebrate her life.
