Mr. Charlie “Lee” Gordy, 75, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born in Forsyth Co. on November 14, 1948, the son of the late Raymond Thomas Gordy and Anna Becky Caudle Gordy. Lee was a loving husband, daddy and papa who loved spending time with his family. He owned and operated Pinebrook Texaco and Pinebrook Automotive. Lee loved to coon hunt, garden, and work on his classic cars. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his six siblings, Zena Snyder, Shelby Bennett, JoAnn Womble, Mary Jane Kiger, Larry Gordy and Guy Gordy; two brothers-in-laws, Jimmy Burgess and Curtis Burgess; and a sister-in-law, Linda Culler. Lee is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy Burgess Gordy; two daughters, Missy Lee Midkiff (Brian) and Cristy Lee Gordy-Floyd; six grandchildren, Charlie LeeAnna Gordy Rich (Ian), Katlyn Governale (Alex), Thomas Midkiff, Nathan Floyd, Emma Floyd and Noah Floyd; three brothers, Billy Gordy (Margie), Ray Gordy (Kay) and R.T. Gordy; four sisters, Gail Tuttle, Becky Shelton, Joy Brunk (James) and Vicki Smith (Avery) and several nieces and nephews. Lee is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in laws, Eddie Culler, Debbie Tuttle (Roger), Betty Mabe, Donna Burgess, Paula Stop (Russ), Cindy Mabe (Clarence) and Barbara Burgess (Junior). A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Union Tabernacle Church Cemetery with Bro. Jesse Butcher officiating.
