Lee Barnes

Mr. Lee Russell Barnes, 93, passed away Friday, February 23, 2018. He was born February 3, 1925. Mr. Barnes proudly served his country in the United States Army in the Normandy Invasion during WWII. He retired from R. J. Reynolds and later ran Pace Gas Station in Walkertown. Mr. Barnes enjoyed his many years coaching at Walkertown Little League. He also enjoyed meeting his friends at Hardees and Bojangles. Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Jones Barnes. He is survived by his daughter, Lu Ann Wall (Rocky); son, Danny Barnes; five grandchildren: David Wall (Joy), Tim Wall (Jennifer), Jennifer Morini (Frank), Tiffany Epperson (Andrew), and Dustin Barnes; also, eight great-grandchildren: Christopher, Jason, and Layla Wall, Nicholas and Lexi Morini, and Bella, Paislee, and Jamison Epperson. A memorial service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 26, at Loves United Methodist Church in Walkertown. Inurnment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown.
