Mrs. Leatha Salmons Howard, 81, of Clemmons passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born September 17, 1928 in Yadkin County to George Franklin and Pearl Williams Salmons. Mrs. Howard was a member of Clemmons Moravian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Nonnie S. Groce and a brother, Rev. Jack L. Salmons. She is survived by her husband, Casper Albert Howard; a daughter, Beverly Gwynn; two granddaughters, Aleatha ""Lee"" Ellis and husband Joe and Traci Pendleton; a grandson, Brian Gwynn; four great grandchildren, Brandi Gwynn, Gavin Gwynn and Shelby and April Pendleton; three sisters, Kathleen S. Patterson, Mildred S. Sunderlin-Gorham and Carrol S. Knight; a brother, James H. Salmons, Sr. and wife Shirley and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Clemmons Moravian Church with Rev. Q. Ray Burke officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends following the service in the sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
