Leana Garner

Leana (Lee) Beamer Garner, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away peacefully on August 11, 2022 at The Kate B. Reynolds House surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Surry County, NC on March 4,1928 to Kettie Steele Beamer and Caleb Warren Beamer. She graduated from Booneville High School and enjoyed a fulfilling career at AMP, Inc. Lee married Ralph S. Garner, Sr. and together they had five children – Ralph S. Garner, Jr. (Lou), Michael W. Garner (Debbi), Warren C. Garner (Debbie), Talmadge L. Garner (Margaret-Ann) and Leigh Ann Garner. They were blessed with six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph S. Garner, Sr. and two sisters, Gladys Beamer and Helen Caldwell, and is survived by one brother, John (Dick) Beamer and multiple nieces and nephews. Lee was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was an inspiration to all who knew her in showing us how to live an active and fulfilling life. She was an exceptional cook and enjoyed sharing her special dishes with friends and family. A source of great enjoyment to Lee were family gatherings, trips to the beach and the mountains, and visiting with friends. A memorial service will be held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trellis Supportive Care at 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
