Lawrence Michael Larry" Pool

Lawrence Michael ""Larry"" Pool, 64 of Mocksville died Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Pool was born June 29, 1945 in St. Louis, MO., a son of the late Pitt Poole and the late Kitty Mason Poole. He was an US Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War and was the owner of Quality Tax Service for 21 years. He was a very patriotic man who loved his country. Larry was a past Commander of the American Legion # 55 and a life time member of The Veterans of Foreign Wars. Riding his many motorcycles was a passion along with earning a 4th degree black belt in Samshinkai Karate and a 3rd degree black belt in Gojushorei Weapons. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Brenda Jones Pool; daughter, Nicole Leigh Isley; grandchildren, Cody Tharpe, Courtney Claypool, Talulah Isley, and Penelope Cunningham; and brother, Tim Poole. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Talmadge Solomon, minister officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
