Mr. Lawrence Alois Murray, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2010. He was born in Horicon, Wisconsin on October 31, 1923 to the late John Joseph and Elizabeth Boehmer Murray. Mr. Murray was an Army veteran serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Larry moved with Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the Tampa, Florida facility in 1958. He moved his family to Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 1969 when the Schlitz plant was under construction. He retired from the Stroh's Brewing Company after nearly 40 dedicated years of service. In addition to his parents, Mr. Murray was preceded in death by his first wife, Madeline (Muggs) Olesak Murray and brothers, Eugene, John, Jr., David and James. Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Roxie Eldridge Murray; daughter, Megan (Gray) Hauser of Clemmons; son, Christopher (Sandy) of Winston-Salem; three grandchildren, Matthew Hauser (Abbigail Lewis) of Newport, Katie Hauser (Nick Robertson) of Wilmington and Jake Hauser of Clemmons; one great grandchild, Ayden Hauser of Newport; a sister, Elizabeth Hidde of Largo, Florida and numerous nieces and nephews across the United States and Canada. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church, Clemmons, NC on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 11:00AM with Father Michael Buttner officiating. Following the service, the family will greet friends in the family center of the church for food and fellowship.
