Mr. Lawrence Joseph Buckley Hollett, 94, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born April 13, 1927, in Lynn, MA., the son of Joseph Lawrence and Florence Brown Buckley. He was a parishioner of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. Mr. Hollett was a graduate of both Memorial University in St. John’s, Newfoundland, and Nova Scotia Technical Institute. He was retired from AT&T Western Electric with over 38 years of service. An expert woodcarver, he also enjoyed watercolor painting and carpentry of all types. Mr. Hollett was a calm, smooth spoken man who could sometimes be stubborn, but was devoted to his family. He was a man of many talents and few words. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Patricia Johnson Hollett; five children, David Lawrence Hollett (Luna) of Birmingham, AL, Pamela Jo-Ann Bell (Michael) of Niagara on the Lake, ON, James Patrick Hollett (Susan) of Lewisville, Peter Gregory Hollett (Mary Beth) of Charlotte and Stephen Mark Hollett of Warren, OH, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, November 19, 2021 at St Leo the Great Catholic Church with Fr. Felix Nkafu officiating. The family will receive friends 30 minutes before the Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 335 Springdale Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
