Lawrence Reid Hine

Mr. Lawrence Reid Hine, 91, of Winston-Salem, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2011. He was born September 19, 1919 in Forsyth County to Connie Mae Reid Hine and Robah Jacob Hine. He was a member of Friedland Moravian Church and the Elks Lodge #449 in Winston-Salem. Mr. Hine was a veteran serving during World War II in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge- Salem Lodge #289 where he was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was also a member of the Scottish Rites and the Oasis Shrine in Charlotte. Mr. Hine was employed for Modern Chevrolet with 20 years of service and retired from Bob Neill Pontiac. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys Mahaffey Hine and his second wife, Wilda Mae Cash Hine. Surviving are two stepsons, Ronnie Brewer (Teresa) and David Brewer, all of Winston-Salem and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, June 24, 2011 at Friedland Moravian Church Graveyard with the Rev. Wayne Byerly officiating. There is no stated visitation. Friends may offer condolences on Thursday from 10:00am until 8:00pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
