Lawrence Carroll, Jr.

Mr. Lawrence Winfield "Windy" Carroll, Jr., 65, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018, at Forsyth Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Windy was born in Forsyth County on November 16, 1952, to the late Lawrence Winfield Carroll, Sr. and Bettie Bodenhamer Carroll. He received his GED from Forsyth Technical Community College and owned his own business, Carroll's Painting Company. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Karl A. "Tony" Carroll and his niece, Amber M. Carroll. Windy is survived by his nephew, Samuel L. Carroll; great-nephew, Anthony J. Hicks; aunt, Mildred B. Johnson; uncle, Robert Shutt; cousins, Sarah Marler, Carroll Ray Posey, Sue Widner, Hope J. Campbell, Lyle Shutt, and Lynn McClure; and his former sister-in-law, Bobbie G. Mabe. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Doug Klein officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to Forsyth Humane Society, 4881 Country Club Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
