Laurie Sutphin Barefoot

WINSTON-SALEM-Laurie Ann Sutphin Barefoot, 42, passed away Saturday, Aug 2, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 5, 1972 in Forsyth County, NC. She was preceded in death by her biological father, Mark Wayne Sutphin. She is survived by her parents, Steven and Joyce Vander Linden; sister, Sarah Vander Linden Redmond and husband, Jerod; two nephews, Brody and Sullivan Redmond; two sons, Brett and Wesley Barefoot; grandmother, Barbara Sutphin; two uncles, Darren and Kirk Sutphin. Laurie deeply loved her family and was very close to her aunts and uncles, Gray and Judy Fulp, Grady and Claudine Whiteheart, Steve and Gaynell Whiteheart and Jerry and Sue Whiteheart; and numerous cousins. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Hayworth Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Dr. David Fulp officiating. The family wishes to thank Dr. Frank Chen, his staff, Martha and Michele, Dr. John Britt and Fran who provided excellent care and kindness towards Laurie during her illness.
