Laura Waynick Green

Laura Christine Waynick Green, age 96, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2024. She was born on March 23, 1928 in Alamance County, the daughter of Marvin McKinley Waynick and Mary Francis Lemons Waynick. She left Alamance County after High School to attend nursing school at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. She remained in Winston-Salem for the rest of her life and worked there, as a registered nurse, for over 50 years.

Laura was an ardent reader, gardener, and student of history. Later in life, she experienced great joy as she was able to realize her lifelong dreams of travel, with trips to London, France, Italy, Spain, Andorra, Monaco, New York, California, Florida, and Alaska.

Being the original strong and independent woman, Laura Green was able to live in her own home and care for herself, and others, until the last few days of her 96 ½ years.

In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Lee Green Jr. and her sisters, Mary Way, and Honzelle Whitesell.

Laura is survived by the four sons that she raised and loved unconditionally, Arthur Lee (Buddy) Green III - wife Dolly, Danny Waynick Green - wife Rebecca, Garry Marion Green, and David Paul Green - wife Janet.

Laura considered her little ones the greatest gift of all. Grandchildren: Krista McEachern - husband Andrew, Jason Green, Brooke Bean, Lauren Miller - husband Andrew, Sumner Livingston - husband Everette, Natalie Harper - husband Derek, Jackson Green - wife McKenzie, Miriam Green, and Katie Levine - husband Eric.
