WINSTON-SALEM - LaTrelle Mielke left this world on January 4, 2012 peacefully in her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Mielke; daughters, Linda Deveaux and Marianne Neace. She retired from Lucent Technologies with 25 years of service. She is survived by her daughter, Liz Pinson and husband Ed. The joy of her life was her three grandsons, Shane (Angie), Chuck (Deborah) and Eddie (Carrie Anne) Pinson. The delight of her last months was her great grandson, Grant Pinson who will be joined by a great granddaughter, Caroline in April. She is also survived by her siblings, Ken (Marie) McCall of Cypress, Texas, Darlene Phillips (Bill) of Carlsbad, New Mexico and Dick McCall (Milly) of Houston, Texas. LaTrelle was a charter member of South Fork Church of Christ where she was a faithful member as long as health permitted. She loved teaching Sunday School and influencing the young people. She also enjoyed playing her violin in the Salem Community Orchestra. For many years she directed the Acapella Wedding Chorus and weddings. She was an expert seamstress and owned Creative Fashions for several years. LaTrelle had many hobbies, interests, and an unending zest for life. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7 at Forsyth Memorial Park followed by a memorial service at South Fork Church of Christ, 205 Keating Drive, Winston-Salem at 3:30 p.m. with Mr. Jim Coviello officiating with a time of sharing any memories of LaTrelle. The family will receive friends following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Little Symphony of Forsyth County, 608 Drumheller Rd., Clemmons, NC 27012 (for SCO).
