Larry Vivian Melton

Mr. Larry Vivian Melton, age 71 of Westfield passed away at his home Friday evening May 9, 2014.
Larry was born in Carroll County, VA November 14, 1942 to Vivian Junior Melton and Nellie Rowena Hundley Melton. He was a diesel mechanic for forty years, a United States Navy veteran and of the Baptist faith. Larry was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Melton is survived by his daughters; Tracy (Stephen) Southern of Germanton, Lori Frye of King, Shannon Thompson of Walnut Cove, Vivian Melton of Abingdon, VA and Sheila (Michael) Bradley of Beaufort, NC. One son, Larry (Leanie) Melton of Westfield. Ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Three brothers; Jimmy (Judith) Melton of Rural Hall, Danny Melton of Walkertown and Leon Melton of Johnson City, TN. Several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Simmons Covenant Cemetery in Westfield by Rev. Charles Bunn. Military burial honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post 290 of King. There will be no formal visitation.
