Larry Vincent Maguire

KERNERSVILLE- Larry Vincent Maguire, 66, died Friday, October 21, 2011 at his home. He was born October 2, 1945 in Guilford County to the late Andrew Franklin Maguire and Velma Cox Maguire. Mr. Maguire graduated from East Forsyth High School, Class of 1964. He was a sergeant in the Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. Larry worked for Pilot Freight Carriers and later became a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Realtors and Keller Williams Realty. As a prankster, he lovingly played jokes on friends and family. Most importantly Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Surviving are his loving wife of 44 years Rosemary Kirkman Maguire; two children John Lee Maguire of Clarendon, NC and wife Wendy, and Holly Kathryn Maguire of Chapel Hill, NC; and two grandchildren Jordan and Jake Maguire. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 PM, Monday, October 24, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Jim Ponder officating. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville. The Maguire family will receive friends from 6-8 Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center at 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family expresses their sincere gratitude to all Larry's caregivers and friends who touched his life during his time of need.
