Larry Thomas Llewellyn

Larry Thomas Llewellyn (Llew, Tom, Tommy) passed peacefully from this world into Heaven on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. The son of Parzada Ophelia Brown and Thomas Henry Llewellyn was born on April 21, 1942 in Winston-Salem. He was a member of New Philadelphia Moravian Church and also attended Pine Chapel Moravian Church. He loved the Lord, his family and friends. He never met a stranger. He graduated from Gray High School in 1964. He was employed with Sealtest Dairy for ten years. He was also employed for approximately 35 years as a security officer and supervisor for Globe & Burns Security. He was an authority in cowboy movies and memorabilia and an avid wrestling fan. He was also a collector of dicast vintage cars. He had two cats McCloud and Muffy, who miss him very much. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 32 years, Bunny Thompson Llewellyn; a son, James (Tracie) Llewellyn; a daughter, Penny (Paul) Reiner; a step-son, Jonathan (Karen) Guyer; three granddaughters, Alexis Mullins, Emily Llewellyn and Alaina Reiner. Also surviving are Tania, Danela, Luis, Joseph and Annie Martinez who considered him as a grandpa. He is also survived by many close and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandmother, Lottie McDowell; his aunt, Minnie Vandiver, and many special friends. Special thanks to the Intensive Care Unit, the Critical Intensive Care Unit, and the Palliative Care Unit of Forsyth Medical Center for their care and compassion. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, January 19, 2017 at New Philadelphia Moravian Church with Dr. Worth Green and the Rev. James Demby officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
