HILTON KING - Mr. Larry Dwain Hilton, 66, died on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. He was born August 20, 1943 in Davie County to the late Walter Hilton and Clara Smith Hilton. Larry and his family moved to Wilmington and lived at the coast for seventeen years. He retired from the maintenance department of the Town of Carolina Beach. Larry and his family moved back to King in 2006. Larry was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Lewisville. Along with his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his son, Dwain Wakefield Hilton; and a twin brother, Gary Wayne Hilton. He is survived by his wife, Vicki Pfaff Hilton of the home; two daughters, Brenda Lynch and Toni Lynn (Anthony) Pridgen of King; three granddaughters, Jessica Lynch, Teri Lynch and Allison Pridgen. Larry also had three granddaughters by his son's marriage to Josie Hilton, Christina, Erica and Rebecca. Larry is also survived by seven great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday, September 8 at Hayworth-Miller Funereal Home in Rural Hall. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown with Dr. Bud Owen officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
