Larry Gordy, Sr.

Mr. Larry William Gordy, Sr., 75, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born in Forsyth Co. on September 15, 1946, the son of the late Raymond and Anna Caudle Gordy. Mr. Gordy worked for Santee Cement Carriers and retired from Long Brothers Trucking Co. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Priscilla Manuel Gordy; four sisters, Zena Snider, Mary Jane Kiger, Shelby Bennett and Joann Womble; and one brother, Guy Gordy. He is survived by  a son, Pete Gordy (Paula); a daughter, Tracie McGee (Jimmy); four grandchildren, Brandon Gordy (Meghan), Kristen Gordy, Jacob McGee (Brittany) and Zachary McGee; two great-grandchildren, Makayla McGee and Hailey McGee; four sisters, Gail Tuttle, Joy Brunk, Becky Shelton and Vickie Smith (Avery); four brothers, R.T. Gordy, Billy Gordy (Margie), Ray Gordy (Kay) and Lee Gordy (Judy) and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He is also survived by a special friend, Bonnie and his dog, Susie. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Red Bank Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Germanton. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 this evening, Friday, February 18, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
