Larry Alton Gibbons

WINSTON SALEM - Mr. Larry Alton Gibbons, 62, passed away Friday, February 13, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. Alton was born on April 12, 1952 in Surry County to Romie Alton and Beulah Nunn Gibbons.

Alton was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved his family. He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing. Alton was a successful man who started his own business, LA Gibbons Industrial Co., from the ground up.

In addition to his parents, Alton was preceded in death by two sons, Larry Allen and Gary Lee Gibbons.

Surviving are his wife, Donna Crews Gibbons; four children, Tracie Reece, Rex M. Samuels Jr. (Ashley), Stephanie L. Samuels, and Jessica S. Davis (Mac); and four grandchildren, Rex Samuels III, Lily Samuels, Olivia Davis and Madalynn Davis, two brothers, Donnie Gibbons (Geraldine), Ronnie Gibbons, and a sister, Polly Ashburn.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel.
