Mr. Larry Cameron Coleman, 65 of Winston-Salem passed away Friday, October 2, 2009 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born January 2, 1944 in Bryson City, N.C. To the late Charlie Coleman and Jemina Tabor Coleman. He attended Bethel Methodist Church. Mr. Coleman retired from the city of Winston-Salem, where he worked for 30 years as a n electrician for the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System. He was an avid outdoors man who loved hunting, fishing and just spending time in the mountains of his home place. Most of all he loved spending time with his granddaughter, Natalie. He was a devoted husband, father and friend. He always had a quick wit and a generous spirit. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Coleman Gray. Left to cherish fond and loving memories are his wife of 33 years, Joan Dunn Griffith Coleman of the home, one daughter, Lorry Ann Hall and husband Robert, granddaughter, Natalie of Kernersville, sons, Howard Kevin Coleman of Advance, Mark Alan Griffith and wife Theresa of Winston-Salem. Also to cherish his memory are one brother, Wayne Coleman and wife Gail of Chattanooga, TN., three sisters, Carolyn Grubbs of Clemmons, Wenona Jackson of Anchorage, Alaska, and Betty Woodring of Sylva, along with many other nieces, nephews cousins and numerous extended family. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Wayne Branch officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, W-S, N.C. 27103. Larry and his family would like to extend a special thanks to the Doctors and Nurses and Forsyth Medical Center and Kate B.
