Mr. Larry Melvin Bolden, 71, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Forsyth Co. on November 29, 1943, the son of the late Lee Melvin Bolden and Ruby Smith Bolden. Larry was a faithful member of Woodland Baptist Church and was retired from the City of Winston-Salem, as a mechanic, in the fleet service division. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, who will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers; Ken Bolden and Jerry Bolden. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Nancy Royal Bolden of the home, a daughter; Dana B. Summarell (Billy) of Walkertown, two sons; Larry Wayne Bolden of Belews Creek and Wesley Bolden of Walkertown, 6 grandchildren; Matthew Bolden (Amber), Jason Bolden, Chris Neely (Tara), Shane Summarell (Stephanie), Nick Summarell and Mark Schmidt (Rhiannon) and 9 great-grandchildren; Hailey, Bria, Charlie, Rileigh, Carlie, Amelia, Noah, Finn and Zoe. He is also survived by a sister, Karon Gray of Kernersville, a brother, David Bolden of Winston-Salem and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Larry will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Woodland Baptist Church in Rural Hall with Rev. Tim Gammons officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 prior to the service at the church.
