Lala McAbee Morton

Mrs. Lala McAbee Morton, 76, of Winston-Salem passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Grace Health Care. She was born March 28, 1932 in Woodruff, SC to Nathan and Anna Mae Hucklebee McAbee. Mrs. Morton was a member of Heavenview United Pentecostal Holiness Church. She loved cross stitching and plastic canvas work. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland O. Morton, and two brothers. Surviving are two sons, David Morton and wife Lena of Kernersville, John Morton and wife Betty of Lexington; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17 at Heavenview United Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Harold Linder officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
