Laila Gabrielle Schmeltzer

WINSTON-SALEM-Miss Laila Gabrielle Schmeltzer, 7, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Health Center. Miss Schmeltzer was born on March 17, 2006 in Forsyth County to Don Schmeltzer and Melinda Piner. She was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome at a young age. She will be remembered for being a sweet little girl who always had a smile on her face and loved to laugh. Preceding Laila in death are her great-grandparents, Fred and Beulah Spainhour. Miss Schmeltzer is survived by her parents; three sisters, Anna Dominguez, Courtney Schmeltzer, and Veronica Schmeltzer, all of Winston-Salem; grandparents, Jim and Renae Fogle of Winston-Salem; and numerous other loving extended family members. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Midway United Methodist Church with Rev. John Woods officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
