LaDonna Noe Comer, 59, passed away March 28th, after a long and courageous battle against colon cancer. Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, LaDonna grew-up and lived in Winston-Salem, N.C. After earning her LPN degree, she spent her life serving and caring for others as a nurse. She began her career at Baptist Hospital and most recently worked for several years at Arbor Acres United Methodist Retirement Community in Winston-Salem. LaDonna loved and cared for her two daughters, as well as many family, friends and patients. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Dorothy and Clifford Noe. Family members left to remember and continue her generous spirit include daughters Karla Comer of Greensboro and Julie Comer of the home. She leaves behind partner, Wayne Mickey of King. Extended family members include brother Rodney Noe of Winston-Salem and his sons Greg Noe of Winston-Salem and Brett Noe of Charlotte. Also, sister Patricia Smith, her husband Robert and their son Brandon and his wife, Esperanza, all of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and extended family in Tennessee. The visitation and memorial service will be held at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, 3315 Silas Creek Pkwy., Winston-Salem. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and a memorial service will be held Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. The family deeply thanks the caring staff at Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave. and Winston-Salem, 101 Hospice Lane and requests donations be made to either of these organizations, in lieu of flowers.
