Lacy Martin Whitaker

Mr. Lacy Martin Whitaker,75, of Winston-Salem passed away February 28, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born January 30, 1935 in Surry County to the late Floyd Osborne and Fannie Eads Whitaker. He was preceded in death by his two brothers and a daughter, Deborah Joyce Whitaker. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Nancy Dickey Whitaker; four daughters, Brenda Lynn, Judy Kay, Sharon Renee, and Karen Denise; three sons, Gary Thomas, Marty Robbins, and Robert Odell; four sisters, Francis, Dovie, Lavora, and Myrtle; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm, Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Chaplain Randy Hillman officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
