Kristi Sue Idol

WALKERTOWN - Kristi Sue Idol, 35, went home to be with her Lord, Monday, May 21, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home with her family and her fiancé, Brian Pettus by her side. Kristi was born July 29, 1976 in Forsyth Co. to James Edsel and Linda Joyce Idol. Kristi fought courageously for nearly 3 years with Melanoma Cancer. During her fight she touched many people with her courage and never ending smile. Kristi was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Betty Joyce; her paternal grandmother, Peggy Lawson; paternal grandfather, Edsel Idol; and great grandmother, Daisy Simmons. In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sons who she loved dearly, Josh Worley and Dalton Powers both of Walkertown; two brothers, James Idol (Kristi W.) of Lexington and Chris Idol (Kristi K.) of Walkertown; special friends, Sheree Bray the sister she never had, Ernie Shelton and Sarah Lewis; fiancé, Brian Pettus and his two children, Jordan and Reese; special aunts and uncles, Greg and Wendy Jones of Oak Ridge, Mike and Pat Tilley of Kernersville, Kim Whicker of Winston Salem, Carol Westmoreland of Kernersville; special niece and nephews, Taylor, Peyton, Hunter, and Cassidy Idol. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Jon Bowman, and Pastor Mike Jefferson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Kim Kinsley and the nursing staff at Kate B. Reynolds for their loving care. To our sons and their wives, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your love and care that you gave your baby sister. Jimmy and I want to give a special thank you to Greg and Wendy Jones, Mike and Pat Tilley and Kim Whicker for all their support and love. Thank you Brian for showing our daughter unconditional LOVE!
