Kernersville – Kimberly Ann Rendon, 62, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in San Diego County, CA on July 6, 1961, to Joy Duren Rendon and the late Charles Washington Rendon, Jr. Kimberly was an animal lover with a big heart for all different creatures. She was well known for her hard work and dedication in the nursing field. She graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University with her license as a Registered Nurse. She held many titles and worked for several different places, such as a Senior Director for CuraScript, Inc. and a Business Analyst for Crehan & Company. But of all the jobs and desires she had, being a foster parent is what she was most passionate about. She and her wife, Amy, fostered over 60 children in a span of 15 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend who will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Kimberly is survived by her wife, Amy Thompson Rendon and nine children: Nathan Eric Newman, Gregory Charles Newman, Sarah Nicole Newman-Kaper, Dakota Mari’ Thompson, Chase Amos Thompson, Elijah Ashton Thompson, Braydon Avery Thompson, Parker Anderson Thompson, and Gracyn Rose Thompson; three grandchildren, Talyn, Nora, and Ronan; mother, Joy Duren Rendon; three siblings, Brenda Rendon Osborne, Charles Russell Rendon, and Robin Marie Sims; and many nieces, nephews, and extended in-laws.
