Mrs. Kimberly “Kim” Elaine Highfill Crews, 60, passed away on Wednesday February 7, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on May 23, 1963, in Danville VA to the late Rev. Jesse Highfill and Beatrice Causy Highfill. Kim was a member of Red Bank Missionary Baptist Church and was also a past member of Mary Anna Jackson Chapter of Confederate Rose and was very active in the Civil War preservation. Kim was the past President of the James B. Gordon Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and was an early recipient of the Bonnie Blue Metal. She leaves behind her loving companion, her cocker spaniel, Manfred. In addition to her parents, Kim was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Tommy Thompson, and a father-in-law, John Wilburn Crews. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Wilburn Randall Crews, two sons; Jonathon Alton Crews (Ashely), and Randall Edward Crews (Alexandra), and three grandchildren, Charlotte, Lyla, and Miles, two sisters; Rebecca Thompson and Rhonda Cook (Ed), a mother-in-law, Patsy Crews, numerous nieces and nephews, special close friends; Al and Gail Shore, and Joyce and Krissi Krawiec. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday February 10, 2024, at Red Bank Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Sanders, Rev. Jeffry Hillburn and special speaker Senator Joyce Krawiec officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday February 9, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall.
