Mr. Kent Alan Alridge, 44, of Winston-Salem passed away Monday, March 8, 2010 at his home. He was born August 21, 1965 in Forsyth County to Stokes Henry Alridge, Jr. and Mildred ""Bonnie"" Atwood Alridge. Mr. Alridge was of the Methodist faith. He was employed by the Winston-Salem Police Department with 22 years of service. He also worked with the fire department for a couple of years before becoming a Winston-Salem police officer. He loved team roping, hunting, fishing and softball. He was also a coach at Southwest Little League. Mr. Alridge was a loving son, father and friend to all. He was preceded in death by his mother. Surviving are two daughters, Salina Alridge of East Bend and Rachel Alridge of Winston-Salem; his father, Stokes Alridge of Winston-Salem; his fiance´, Melissa Adams of Clemmons; and one sister, Donna Maitz and husband John of London, England. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 12 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Larry Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
