Mr. Kenneth “Kenny” Walter Cox, 71, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Kernersville Medical Center. He was born June 26, 1950, in Forsyth County to the late Willie Luther Cox and Vernie Alice Barker Cox. Kenny was awarded several military medals such as, the Purple Heart, and the Bronze Star with Valor, and many other service medals. He retired from RJ Reynolds after 37 years of service. In addition to his parents, Kenny is preceded in death by two brothers, James Cox and Eddie Cox. He is survived by his loving wife, Vickie Ligon Cox; two children, Alex Cox (Christy) and Cindy White (David); five grandchildren, Jasper White, Sarah White, Walter Cox, David Smith, and Haley Smith; two sisters, Alice Cox Ledford (Steve) and Linda Quinn; two brothers, Barry Cox, and Larry Cox; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank their church family of Lighthouse Baptist Church. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, July 1, 2022, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Rev. Danny Poindexter and Rev. Anthony Gordy officiating. Interment will follow the service at Leak Memorial Baptist Church Graveyard. The family will receive friends and family from 6:00PM until 8:00PM, Thursday, June 30, 2022, at the funeral home.
