Kenneth Carol Stone

Mr. Kenneth Carol Stone, age 63, from Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center following a brief illness.

Kenneth was born on January 13, 1961, in Forsyth County, NC, to the late Carolyn Arteal Palmer and Robert Kenneth Stone.

A proud alumnus of Parkland High School, class of 1979, Kenny spent his teenage Christmases ringing bells for the Salvation Army. Post-graduation, he dedicated over twenty years to Hanes/Sara Lee. His career also included time at BB&T Ballpark, and as of 2019, he embraced the role of a full-time Chocolatier at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. A devoted Carolina Basketball fan, Kenny enjoyed cooking and cherished the moments shared with his many friends.

In addition to his parents, Kenny was also preceded in death by Doris Duggins, an extended family member who was like a second mother to him.

Kenny is survived by his brother, Robert "Steve" Palmer and wife Darlene; nieces, Amanda, Angela, Amilee, and Stephanie (RJ); sister, Tanya Cheek Swaim and husband Jimmie; nephews, Lee (Jennifer), Robbie (Wendy), and Chris; and great-nieces and nephews, Matthew, Lauren, Sam, Max, and Leah.

Kenny was fortunate to have a large extended family and many close, loving friends who will deeply miss him. We are thankful for the kindness and support provided by Kenny's long-time friend, Nicholas Langille, throughout his illness. Nicholas selflessly looked after Kenny, frequently sacrificing his own time with family.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 15, 2024 between the hours of 11:30AM – 1:30PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A graveside service will be held immediately following visitation at 2:00PM at Parklawn Memorial Park.

To celebrate Kenny's passion for Carolina Basketball, guests are encouraged to wear Carolina Blue at the visitation and graveside service.

In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
