Kenneth Eugene Smith, Sr.

Yadkinville Mr. Kenneth Eugene Smith, Sr., 65, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at his home. He was born May 14, 1949 in Forsyth County to the late Otis and Octa Cook Smith. Kenneth was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and worked as a Master mechanic. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church where he was a beloved Sunday school teacher. Kenneth was a very loving husband and father. Surviving is his wife of 45 years, Bonnie Smith; daughter, Kennette Holliday of Springfield, VA; son, Kenneth Smith, Jr of Yadkinville; also surviving is a brother, Keith Smith (Linda) of Winston-Salem and a sister, Marie Ford (Sandy) of High Point. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, August 1, 2014 at Temple Baptist Church with Dr. Bud Owen officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Thursday at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Davie, 377 Hospital St., Suite 103 Mocksville, NC 27028.
