Kenneth Richard Rickles, Sr.

WALNUT COVE-Kenneth Richard Rickles, Sr., 72, passed away Monday, December 28, 2009 at his home. He was born October 2, 1937 in Griffin, GA to the late William Hosea and Mildred Bostwick Rickles. Mr. Rickles retired as a Chief Petty Officer with the United States Navy having served twenty two years for his country, he then later retired from American National Can Co. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Erla Idol Rickles in 2007. Surviving are two sons, James Rickles and wife Maria of Walnut Cove, Kenneth Rickles, Jr. and wife Kathy of Mocksville; three daughters, Vikki Kernodle and husband Brian of Reidsville, Linda Pilson and husband Mike of Walnut Cove, and Tina Payseur of the home; nineteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, William Butler Rickles of GA. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Thursday, December 31, 2009 in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory with the Rev. Junior Wood officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. Memorials may be made to Derrick L.
