Kenneth Eugene Pegram

Mr. Kenneth Eugene Pegram, age 83 of Clemmons, NC passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born March 24, 1940 in Forsyth County to the late James William Pegram and Edith Boger Pegram.  He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley Cleary Pegram and one daughter, Sheri Renee Pegram; one sister, Patricia P. Council; a niece, Stacy C. Rich (Joe) and family, Melissa and Ronald Beck, Amanda and Gregg Lambert, Hilda A. Priddy, Roby and Ann Cleary, Jerry and Cynthia Cleary and more nieces and nephews.  Kenneth was a 1958 graduate of Southwest High School. He worked for R.J. Reynolds for five years then went to work for Krispy Kreme in the equipment department and retired with 35 years of service.  Kenneth enjoyed farming and raising cattle and helping his grandfather Pegram on the farm working tobacco, getting up hay working on the equipment on the farm.  He also enjoyed NASCAR Racing, Boating, Water skiing, traveling to Daytona Beach for race week and also traveling to Ocracoke and the Outer Banks for fishing trips with his father and later with Ronald.  He also loved taking Sheri, Amanda and his mother-in-law to the beach and Pigeon Forge. He often visited Roger Marion’s Garage to talk to the boys, Roger and Coleman. Most of all he loved going to church and church dinners. Shirley and Sheri would like express their deep appreciation for the help and support given to them during Kenneth’s illness by Melissa and Ronald Beck, Hilda A. Priddy, Patricia P. Council, Roby and Ann Cleary, Jerry and Cynthia Cleary and Amanda Lambert for the phone calls, the caretakers from Home Instead, Kim Smith and Sheila Amos, Physical Therapists with Center Well Home Health; Lewisville Fire Department; nurses and doctors on the 7^th floor at Novant Health, Dr. Steven Helman and the nurses and doctors at Hospice and all of you for the wonderful care given to Kenneth over the weeks, months and years.  “Thank you everyone”.  A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, January 22, 2024 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel by Pastor Ray Keeton.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church of Clemmons, 6131 Frye Bridge Rd. Clemmons, NC 27012.
