Kenneth Wilson Coffey

Mr. Kenneth Wilson Coffey, 84, passed away March 5, 2010 at The Oaks at Forsyth. He was born June 18, 1925 in Caldwell County to the late Frenis Dewey and Bessie Teague Coffey. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Inez Shell Coffey and a brother, Barney Coffey, a sister, Gale C. Little, and a great-granddaughter, Rebeka L. Lawrence. Mr. Coffey was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and was retired from the City of Winston-Salem with 25 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Coffey is survived by his loving wife, Colleen Weavil Jones Coffey; a daughter, Ann C. Lawrence and husband Hal of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren, Deborah L. Gibbons and husband Randy of High Point and Jeffrey H. Lawrence and wife Melissa of Rocky Mount, VA; six great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Molly, and Maddison Gibbons, Evan, Gabe, and Aaron Lawrence; a sister, Jan Morgan and husband Bill of Marion; a brother, Steve Coffey and wife Suzie of Knoxville, TN. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Mike Gates and the Rev. Albert Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until 11:00am Tuesday prior to the service at the mausoleum chapel. Memorials may be made to Gideons International, PO Box 1598, Welcome, NC 27374.
